Known as a college town Western Washington University is central to Bellingham and is tucked up against Sehome Hill arboretum. The arboretum has plenty of trails for walking, hiking and jogging. With Whatcom Community College and Bellingham Vocational Technical Institute there are plenty of options for education and updating career skills. Unemployment remains fairly low and appears to be staying that way.
